Case #090418HGS

Location: Howards Grove, WI
Date: 04.18.09
Time: 9:45pm - 3:20am
Weather: 58.4/Partly Cloudy (Outdoors) & 48.9-73.1 (Indoors)
Investigation Type: Indoor/Commercial
Investigators: Jay, Katie, Allen, Paul, Ashley, Amy, Keith & Jackie
Classification: Confidential (names of rooms & particular areas will be changed to protect the client's confidentiality).

Details: WPI was contacted via website email by the client to have their place of business investigated for possible paranormal activity. Their claims have included, but are not limited to: apparitions, footsteps, voices, shadows and moving objects. There was even a phantom female scream in a hallway one morning at 3:15am. Client is not threatened by the phenomena, but rather is curious as to what may be going on.

Findings: Paul and Amy heard a voice outside of the SN room in the hallway. It sounded like that of either a childs cry or giggle. It was quick and brief. No one else was in this building at the time. This was captured as evidence 090418HGS-Hall EVP 01.

Allen and Keith heard a womans voice coming from the center of the SN room as they entered the room from its respective doorways. It was nearly a sentence and no one else was present at the time. This was captured as evidence 090418HGS-SN EVP 02.

Jay and Jackie heard a childs giggle just inside the "court" prior to beginning their shift. No one else was present at this time. This was captured as evidence 090418HGS-Court EVP 03.

An EVP was captured, possibly that of a female voice, while the recorder was sitting on a table in command. Ashley and Amy were present at the time. This was captured as evidence 090418HGS-Command EVP 04.

Please visit the EVP page to hear the 4 EVP's referenced above.

Of the claims that were made, WPI tried their best to debunk to find natural causes. Firstly, there were no high-range EMF readings worth noting. There were some rooms cooler than others, but there also seemed to be a slight draft in the south end of the "SN room" caused by a cooling vent. Certain items in that room were said to have moved on their own and their positions were noted at the beginning of our investigation. They had not moved all night.

A high chair's tray top in the building was seen flying off the high chair by the client. Allen and Paul at separate times during the night tried to get the high chair's tray top to fly across the aisle. Allen and Paul both concluded that there is no way they could make the tray, from a stable position, move as far across the aisle as claimed, let alone fly off.

Paul went into a restroom and tried to debunk claims of auto hand faucets turning on by themselves. After noting the amount of difficulty of getting one to turn on with the wave of a hand, the only thing to note here is that there may be an issue with the batteries or the computer sensor. Most hands-free auto sinks use batteries. If the batteries are running dry, like with some electronics, they can react by turning on. Also, the sensors should be checked and tweaked to make certain they are in proper, working order. The client has said they have been recently maintained, therefor making the claim unexplainable.

Jay and Paul later in the night tried to debunk 090418HGS-SN EVP 02 caught by Allen and Keith. Paul stepped outdoors just outside the room and made as much verbal noise as he could. Jay remained inside the room and confirmed he could not hear Paul making any noise.

Investigators also had a few personal experiences which included: shadows being seen by Jay, Paul & Keith, 3 of the 4 EVP's captured were heard with our own ears, and Paul felt something touch his wrist shortly after Katie had asked an entity to grab her hand. Paul and Katie were on opposite sides of a particular building and could not hear each other talking aloud.

Conclusion: No apparitions were seen nor were any phantom footsteps heard. If these claims were made and the clients are certain no other people were present at the time, then they are purely unexplainable. Though we heard no scream at 3:15am or objects move by themselves, we did have the three moments where six different investigators heard disembodied voices with their own ears, later backed up with captured evidence.

WPI believes there is something paranormal based upon some of the claims where we were not able to find natural, reasonable explanations for these claims. We also believe that our own personal experiences, especially backed by the EVPs captured, that it solidifies that there is something paranormal happening here. The property, however, cannot be labeled as haunted at this time. We would like to request a second investigation in the near future for the possibility of capturing further evidence of paranormal activity not present during this investigation.
