Case #081115GRI

Location: Rockton, IL
Date: 11.15.08
Time: 8:50pm - 1:10am
Weather: 35.6/Partly Overcast (Outdoors) & 70.7 (Indoors)
Investigation Type: Indoor/Residential
Investigators: Jay, Katie, Allen, Paul, Perry, Amy, Ashley & Keith
Classification: Confidential

Details: WPI was contacted via website by the client requesting help with an entity. Client described instances where an apparition of a male was present in two areas of the home on a consistent basis over the span of 10 years of their residency. Prior to the current residences there have been reports going back about 30 years. They were certain of this presence and did not want to know "if" their house was haunted, but rather "why". Besides visual sightings there were also reports of objects once having moved and uncomfortable feelings in certain spots of the house. The clients have described the man as one wanting help possibly finding something long since lost and typically leaves the witness feeling sad or depressed for the man.

Findings: WPI utilized just about every tool in our arsenal, but did not find or capture any hard evidence. All EMF readings took throughout the home did not show anything that would make anyone feel as if though they are experiencing paranormal activity.

However, there were so many personal experiences that we are certain detailed information of them all would take up a lot of page space! Experiences included by most of our team include, but not limited to: disembodied voices, noises in rooms where no one was present, multiple equipment failures, a few hits on the K-II and Mel-Meter, a free-flowing and self-illuminating ball of light, shadows, a locked cell phone in a back pocket powering on, feelings of being followed or "pushed", chest pains and general uneasy feelings, and also a moving shadow having passed through Paul in one room and then passed through Jay in another room within seconds of each other. This one particular experience left Paul and Jay both cold and shaking with their hairs standing on end. As previously stated, we were disappointed nothing was captured.

Conclusion: WPI beleives that with all the personal experiences that there is something paranormal at this house, but cannot say it is haunted due to lack of hard evidence. It is our belief that if the entity was being described by the client as just wanting help from the living that there may also be more than just the one entity in the house. We felt as if though we were played with and attacked, which did not fit the description given by the client and witnesses of their visitor. At our review with the client we plan on asking for a second investigation, as the heat of all activity seemed to begin happening after midnight. (12.06.08)

UPDATE: During our review the client requested a second investigation to take place on 12.20.08. The review was held by Jay and Paul who also had a new experience about an hour into it. Jay and Paul were seated at the dining room table with the client and both experienced a pressure to their heads that felt like a clamp (or vice grip) was tightening on the sides and created a pressure in the top-center of their heads, thus creating a quite painful headache. Both concluded that the pain began at the same time for them (30 minutes before leaving), felt exactly the same in the same spot, and went away for both within 5 minutes of leaving the house. They did not know this was happening to each of them until Paul brought up his headache to Jay while walking to the car. Also, new information given to WPI during our review included information pertaining to a second potential entity in the house previously not told to us. There may also be "something" attached to a piece of furniture in the house where Paul experienced at least three events happen during the investigation. Could our theory be correct? We also plan to cut the team down from eight to four to better concentrate on the hot areas. Now we will go back in there for what we are here to do...HUNT THE TRUTH! Not "why" is it haunted, but IS it and how many are there? More details to follow. WPI will post a follow-up right here attached to this case number after we re-investigate sometime in 2009.
